Structural Engineering
Our team of structural engineers is experienced with the design of many different types of buildings and structures in Honolulu and all of Hawaii. These structures include large retail, multi-family residential, hospitals, parking garages, and other large structures. We also have extensive experience with smaller projects such as pedestrian bridges, fitness centers, comfort stations, bus stations, gazebos, and canopies. Our engineering experience for these structures includes new design, expansions and alterations, seismic and hurricane retrofitting, condition assessment investigations and reports, and due diligence.
Hawaii Engineering Group is a Honolulu based company that is currently staffed with three licensed structural engineers, and two staff engineers.
Forensic Engineering & Structural Remediation
HEG engineers are skilled in the observation of existing structures in the case of failure. Structures will occasionally suffer distress from ground movement, overloads, corrosion and impacts. Our engineers examine the structure, evaluate the causes for the distress, and recommend repair procedures.
We also provide due diligence reports for existing structures, typically before the sale of properties.
Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Consulting
The benefits of metal building and roof construction include sustainability and the ability to maintain a streamlined design and construction schedule. HEG specializes in the design of pre-engineered steel structures, and we work closely with leading metal building manufacturers in the U.S. to provide foundation design, and coordination during all phases of project design.
Construction Phase Inspections
HEG provides Special Inspections during construction, as required by the City & County of Honolulu, and construction observation site visits, as required by the State of Hawaii. These inspections ensure that construction follows the intent of the design drawings.
