HEG owns and operates several UAVs to perform topographic surveys, create orthographic maps, simulate watershed runoffs, and generate 3D models. This allows us to view areas that are otherwise inaccessible or dangerous to reach, such as building facades requiring spall repair or the undersides of bridges over waterways, and perform assessments on the structural condition of existing structures.
StructureScan™ Mini HR
The StructureScan™ Mini HR is a high-resolution GPR system, for concrete inspection. This handheld system locates rebar, conduits and post-tension cables in depths of up to 16 inches (40 cm). This GPR system can be used to locate metallic and non-metallic targets in concrete walls, floors and ceilings; for structural inspection of bridges, monuments, walls, towers, tunnels, balconies, garages, decks; for condition assessments of concrete and to measure slab thickness.

The Trimble SX10 is capable of collecting high-density 3D scan data, enhanced Trimble VISION imaging, and high-accuracy total station data. This allows HEG to create decimeter accurate point clouds for drafting and engineering as well as generate contours for topographic maps.
EPOCH 50 GNSS System
The EPOCH 50 GNSS System provides field crews with extremely accurate point location and elevation data while conducting surveys. Combining this data with the data from our aerial surveys vastly improves the accuracy and quality of point clouds, aerial maps, and topographic surveys. The system is composed of a base and rover configuration for quick and precise collection of data.
